6 June - VIDEO AND ITS DISCONTENTS
Besides working in film, over the past several years Keith Sanborn has been quietly building a body of work in digital video. This evening will include such pop hits as "The Art Work in the Age of its Mechancial Reproducibilty by Walter Benjamin as to told to Keith Sanborn (c) Jayne Austen 1936," "Imaginary Laughter" and several other tapes with either very long or very short titles.

13 June - INTERNATIONAL DARLINGS
A gala coming out party for Darling International, the newest film by M.M. Serra and Jenn Reeves. After touring the world (Sundance, Rotterdam, Berlin) and the Greater Metropolitan Area, it's coming home to Ludlow Street, just downstairs from the tenement chateau where it was filmed. Serra and Jenn will be on hand with treats and cheap champagne, and an assortment of their short films to accompany the lovely debutante, including Soi Meme (Serra) and We Are Going Home (Reeves).

20 June - SURVEILLANCE AND THE STATE
Aaron Scott (NYC) brings Big Brother to the LES; expect an evening of "monitors" featuring paranoid fantasies of absolute, unmitigated totalitarian control, industrial propoganda, occupation and administration of public spaces by anonymous security forces, statistically-sound technologies for predicting human tragedy, ruthless government intrusion on seemingly insignificant events, complicit exhibitionists, real-life melodramatization of the banal. Tapes will include The Franklin Report by Clint Bagwell, Suicide Box by the Bureau of Inverse Technology, Untitled (E.W.) by Aaron Scott, and Der Reise by Michael Kleir. "A glimpse of raw, human reality" - A. Scott.

June 27 - A FILM IS A FILM IS A FILM
English filmmaker David Woods makes a special stop at the RBMC to present two experimental documentaries made over the course of the last 30 years. The first film, Turnip (1970), was made in New York and concerns a violent childhood, and the second, Baby Home (1996), is a record of a home birth. According to Mr. Woods these films make a make a "natural" pairing as both have real-time soundtracks, and the image track bears contrasting relationships to the sound material.
